The Book of Daniel.(Prelude)

I began writing about the Bible “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1) This is not a new thing, thousands of people have written their thoughts about the bible. As a Born Again Christian we are called to defend our faith. It is not a Blind Faith it is a knowing faith. The Bible is the inspired word of God. And because people would rather follow themselves they will work hard to attack the Bible, either overtly or covertly.

The overt attacks on the Bible are easy to see. It is the Covert Attacks that lead people to what seems good, but takes happy people to hell. I know, discussing things like hell may seem abrupt, but so is taking down a sign that says “Bridge is out” and people hurtle to their death. Satan’s power is in the deception. It is subtle.

For instance, when Satan said “For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:5) People will twist this simple verse by dropping a single word “ye shall be gods” by dropping “as” it changes the meaning from being Like God to actually being God. Without having eaten of the tree, Eve already knew what she was about to do was going to be the original Sin. God had at this point only given one command “But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.” (Genesis 3:3) The moment she touched the fruit of the tree she died.

Obviously Eve did not stop breathing or thinking, but she was apart from God and she immediately knew it and saw how naked she was without God. God didn’t just up and say, get outta here and be naked. No, it was God’s grace that he clothed them (Genesis 3:21). Although Adam and Eve had turned their back on God. God has never turned his back on us.

As I went through Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, and Samuel; in my mind God had been leading people (not just of long ago, but of people Now) to his Son, Jesus. Jesus is in every book of the Bible. Moses didn’t know the name of the coming Messiah, but he knew a Messiah was coming. However, here I was in the Book of Kings.

How I got there was the mention of Jonah. As a kid I knew about Jonah, but only remember the basic story of Jonah. It was after a detailed study of the Book of Jonah I saw the Model of Jesus’s death and resurrection foretold long before Jesus was born. I only knew that because of where I was in time, over 2000 years after the Death and Resurrection of Jesus. So, instead of studying the Book of Kings, for now; I would dive into the Book of Daniel, the writing was on the wall, so to speak.

So I decided that there were three things I was looking for; 1. Who and When did he write the Book? 2. What does the Book teach? 3. What does the Book say about Us?

Let me know what you think, and what you get out of the Book of Daniel

Stay Tuned…
